Growing a forest, one tree at a time

For every hour you invest, we invest in the Earth, planting 5 trees
that shape a greener tomorrow.

How it works

It’s simple. You invest in your data.
We invest in the planet. Here’s how the trees get planted.

01

You work with us

Every project, every hour of data consulting, every dashboard we build, it all counts. Whether it’s a two-day workshop or a six-month transformation.

02

We plant 5 trees per hour

For every billable hour, 5 trees go into the ground through our partner Trees for the Future.

03

Communities grows

These aren’t random trees. They’re part of Forest Garden programs that help farming families build sustainable livelihoods, food, income, and environmental resilience.

04

Impact compounds

A tree planted today absorbs CO₂ for decades. The forest we’re building together will outlast all of us, and that’s exactly the point.

NAMBUYA TEOPISTA a farmer of BUMUKONYA CHEWA GROUP located in the NAKATSI sub county, LUKHUNGU village, started Trees project work in the year of 2019 which means she is 4 years in the project.

Before joining the project, Teopista used to monopolise in banana growing with some few seasonal crops like beans and maize only. In addition to that her garden had only one contour which wasn’t able to hold much of the running water, in other words she used to experience water erosion in her garden. Much as her garden had some trees but they were very few and scattered.

On joining trees for the future, she first learnt on how to protect her garden by planting green wall which has successfully been introduced and well managed. The green wall has protected her forest garden from roaming animals and also un known trespassers, besides the prune outs from the green wall help her in feeding her animals.

Teopista’s entry gate to her forest garden which has a wonderful protection wall.

Her favourite activity is perma gardening that has helped in home consumption and also brings in income on daily basis.

The moment she learnt the best techniques of vegetable growing and its importance, she is

expanding gradually on vegetable production, she will soon demand a bigger market for her

vegetables . Her perma gardens well managed with 4’s .All in all, Teopista says she has cultivated much since the year of 2020 which has anabled her to manage the school fees of her children through the sale of surplus produce, managed home consumption as there food store has never ran short of food, diet improvement as her forest garden at this time has all kinds of food variety and also her land has improved on soil fertility due to compost manure application ,trees planted and crop rotation.

Besides the above benefits, she has also saved some capital from sale of her produce and has started poultry project. Currently she counts over 9000trees on her land and with this she is very sure of her land being protected from environmental haza

Work that plants the future

At The Data forest, we believe bein sustainable is the only possible way forward

Simply because…

You and me, we’re not so different.

We’re all people living on the same planet, fostering hopes and dreams for a bright future. We foster them not only for ourselves, but for our family, friends, future generations and all other living things we care about.

But lately, there are a few (major!) bumps in the road, don’t you think?

Climate change is actually happening. The past 7 years have been the warmest recorded ones in a row. And within the next 2 decades, global temperature is likely to rise another 1,5 degrees Celsius. This puts over 1 million species at risk of extinction. After years of various scientists addressing the urgency of the matter, many leaders still don’t take it seriously enough.

So now the choice is ours: do we sit back or do we act?

Do we shatter our dreams or do we chase them?

We’ll be here taking action by reforesting the planet. We hope someday you’ll team up with us.

Trees for the future

Trees for the Future is a UN‑recognized initiative fighting hunger, poverty, and environmental decline. With their Forest Garden Approach, they help farmers restore soil, protect biodiversity, and secure food and income. Since 1989, millions of trees have been planted, turning degraded land into thriving ecosystems. By partnering with them, every tree we plant supports climate action, stronger communities, and healthier landscapes.
